Bright young thing

NPC’s Emilie Goodall, is one of the 100 rising stars featured in this month's Brummell magazine published by Financial News.

‘A recent Oxford graduate blazing a trail by advising City institutions and executives on charity donations’, Goodall stands out in the list because she works for a charity rather than an investment bank or hedge fund. However, the two worlds are not that far apart. NPC borrows practices from corporate analysis and management consultancy to assess charities. Also, several NPC staff members have moved here from the City.

Martin Brookes, for example, NPC’s research manager, was formerly an economist at Goldman Sachs. He says that the ‘management challenge and creative elements of what we do [at NPC] far surpasses anything I was faced with at an investment bank’.
