Our work offers fresh perspectives and helps to improve the impact of programmes and to increase stakeholder engagement.
Case study: More structured giving
NPC was approached by a corporate foundation that wanted to make more impact on the areas it was funding. However, it did not want to lose its existing arrangement, where staff could nominate charities. NPC suggested the foundation should segment its giving into two portions. One was a proactive portion, where the company selected a small number of charities within a specific focus area, with NPC's advice. The other portion remained free to respond to staff suggestions. Adopting a more structured approach to a part of the company's giving led to increased impact, without disengaging employees in the process.
Streamlined approach
A large company came to NPC for advice because it had too many small funding applications and wanted to get out of funding particular charities. NPC provided it with different options to approaches for filtering and selecting funding applications. We also helped it to think through how to manage the relationships with its grantees, enabling it to stop funding certain charities without advsersely impacting them.
